BIOLOGY
Biology Department Award - given annually to a graduating senior for distinction in scientific research.

Sister Dolores Sablone Award - given to a senior in the communications program based on service, academic performance and promise for future professional attainment.

Elementary Education Student Teaching Award - given for outstanding performance in a 15-week classroom teaching experience.

Clio Award - Given to a senior history major for excellence in the study of history.

NURSING
Department of Nursing Award - given to a student who demonstrated the following qualities and characteristics: the ability to provide patients and families with compassionate, professional nursing; the ability to make critical judgments based on a sound knowledge base; and the potential for leadership within the health care arena and within the profession of nursing.

Carroll L. & Ina G. Bean Award - The criteria for the Carroll L. and Ina G. Bean Award are intended to display the qualities which in the donor's mind were prerequisite to successful professional nursing: high level of sustained motivation in the pursuit of an ideal or goal; compassion and caring attitude toward fellow human beings; high spirit of cooperation in working with others; personal pride in providing professional nursing to those in need; and spirit of joy and achievement in working with others.
