Water Safety Instructor
The Aquatics Department is looking for several students to serve as Water Safety Instructors for the 2009-2010 Academic Year.

Duties Associated with Position:
• Providing swimming instruction to various swimming programs offered
• Ensure safety of patrons during free swim and groups use of pool
• Perform routine pool cleaning and maintenance

Required Skills:
Ability to relate well with all age groups, work in a corporative team focused manner and present a professional image. Knowledge of pool testing. Strong interpersonal skills.

Physical Requirements: Advanced ability to swim, ability to lift distressed swimmer out of the pool.

Environmental Conditions: Pool deck, chemical room, locker room. Surfaces may be slippery and possible exposure to blood and body fluids.

Equipment: swim instruction and safety equipment

Certifications/Licenses: LGT, WSI, CPR, and First Aid certification

Number of hours per week per employee anticipated: Varies

Number of employees required in the department for this job: 5

Time requirements, if any (e.g., MWF, 2-4 PM)? flexible

Employees will require additional OSHA training? Yes
