Distance Learning Adjunct Undergraduate Business Faculty
The Graduate and Professional Studies Division of Saint Joseph’s College of Maine seeks undergraduate level adjunct business faculty with substantial knowledge and experience in Accounting, Management, Organizational Behavior, Finance, Economics, MIS, Business Law, and Ethics to teachin our distance learning program.
The successful candidate will have at least the minimum qualifications listed below and demonstrated ability to meet the key expectations.
Minimum Qualifications:
1. MBA or equivalent from an accredited institution
2. Demonstrated mastery of the subject matter
3. Keen interest in helping people through teaching
4. Demonstrated organizational skills
5. Demonstrated written communication skills
6. Can navigate the Internet with ease
Preferred Qualifications:
1. Practitioner (business and/or industry experience) in the subject matter
2. Competence in the use of the Socratic Method and the facilitation approach to teaching
3. Excellent written and oral communication skills
4. Excellent organizational skills
5. Effective in utilizing instructional technology
Key expectations of the position
1. Effectively relate subject matter to real-life experience
2. Promote maximal learning
3. Plan and organize course content to maximize learning
4. Develop helping and productive relationship with students and colleagues
5. Constructively evaluate students’ assignments and expeditiously provide feedback
6. Maintain accurate records of student progress
7. Timely respond to requests for information and/or action
8. Collaborate in developing, maintaining, improving and innovating courses and their content
9. Employ appropriate instructional strategies in support of learning outcomes
10. Remain current in subject matter
