Distance Learning Adjunct Graduate Business Faculty
The Graduate and Professional Studies Division of Saint Joseph’s College of Maine seeks graduate level adjunct business faculty with substantial knowledge and experience in the theory and practice of Leadership, Systems Thinking & Organizational Dynamics, Economics, Finance, Deming/Juran Quality, Ethics & Social Responsibility, and Organizational Design to teach in our distance learning program.

The successful candidate will have at least the minimum qualifications listed below and demonstrated ability to meet the key expectations.

Minimum Qualifications:
1. Masters degree from an accredited institution
2. Ten years of relevant business/organizational experience
3. Demonstrated mastery of relevant subject areas
4. Demonstrated understanding of the interdisciplinary nature of the relevant subject areas
5. Keen interest in helping people through teaching
6. Good organizational skills
7. Good written communication skills

Preferred Qualifications:
1. Ph.D. or its equivalent in subject area or closely related field
2. Experience as a practitioner in a relevant subject area
3. Interdisciplinary base of knowledge
4. Experience teaching adults in an online environment
5. Experience with the Socratic and facilitative (dialogue-intensive) approaches to teaching
6. Competence in providing constructive feedback
7. Excellent written and oral communication skills
8. Excellent organizational skills

Key expectations of the position
1. Effectively interrelate their subject area with other relevant disciplines and to real-life experience
2. Develop and execute instructional plan for maximum learning
3. Maintain accurate records of instructional effectiveness
4. Develop productive relationship with students and colleagues
5. Constructively evaluate students’ assignments and expeditiously provide feedback
6. Maintain accurate records of student progress
7. Timely respond to requests for information and/or action
8. Collaborate in developing, maintaining, improving and innovating courses and their content
9. Employ appropriate instructional strategies in support of learning outcomes
10. Remain current in subject area
